At Springload a Web Integrator’s role is convert the website design into accessible, cross-browser, standards compliant HTML and CSS code. The Integrator’s work is be passed on to a Developer for server-side scripting and content provision from a database. An Integrator requires a broad range of skills: an excellent eye for design, the ability to interpret and extend the design to particular pages, an understanding of programming and excellent HTML and CSS skills. A rare find indeed!
Conrad performed this role particularly well. He was able to keep the Designers happy by accurately reproducing their creative work in HTML. At the same time he was able to make life easier for the programmers by building the pages with an obvious understanding of how the templates would be used when he passed them on.
Cross-browser consistency and standards compliance are a basic requirement and constant challenge for any serious Internet developer. Conrad displayed the persistence, creativity and research skills to track down or create solutions to, what at times were extremely frustrating, templating challenges.
Socially Conrad was a great addition to the team. His always-cheerful arrival in the office was accompanied by an improvement in everyone else’s mood! He contributed fully to all social activities and was well liked by his workmates.
